One of Americas most loved rock n roll bands hits the charts and road again with Kid Rock for a second summer of the "Rock and Rebels" tour 2009.
Lynyrd Skynyrd ( pronounced leh-nerd skin-nerd ) established in 1970 by Mr Ronnie Van Zant, Mr Allen Collins & Mr Gary Rossington. ( God don't make men like he use to )
In 1987 little brother Johnny Van Zant took the helm. The band was was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 13 2006. Now the band is really on fire.
They are one of thee most popular bands around today. The music of Lynyrd Skynyrd has helped us through many years of our lives. We have heard their music every where since 1970.
Their American rock anthem “Sweet Home Alabama” has passed the 2 million mark in downloaded ring tones. Their last single, “Red White & Blue” reached #1 on the Rock Charts.
Last summer, the band co-headlined one of the most successful tours of the year with their good friend Kid Rock.
High profile appearances, including the show closer at last year’s VH1 Fashion Rocks helped to expose the band to a younger audience. With a catalog of over 60 albums and sales beyond 30 million, Lynyrd Skynyrd remains a major cultural icon that appeals to all generations.
May 1 2009 at Beau Rivage Biloxi, MS will host the opening show. May 2 2009 Mississippi State Fairgrounds ( no pre-sale tickets ) will host the second USA show.
Then off to some exotic locations such as Kuopio & Helsinki, Finland. Oslo, Norway and Cologne, Germany will rocking out with boys from FL.
The European sweep is going to be a great tour. The New Album will be exposed on this tour. The USA will be hosting the completion of the Summer 2009 tour.
Green Valley Ranch will host the final show of the tour September 19 2009. This a long and hideous tour. Please show your appreciation. Show how much we dig their rock n roll.
I saw L S two years ago in Mountain View CA. They excelled all expectations. Big time!
It's amazing the stories the old songs have and they fit in now. Creepy!
